The Big Debate – Is Christianity holding Northern Ireland back?

the big debate 2On Thursday 19th Nov 2015 (8pm), in the Stormont Hotel, William Crawley (BBC) will chair our discussion on the question ‘Is Christianity holding Northern Ireland back?’ This event is free of charge, but entry will be by ticket only. To ensure a fair debate 1/3 of tickets have been allocated to local churches, 1/3 to the group Atheist Ireland and the final 1/3 are available to the general public.

Answering YES will be Michael Nugent. Michael is a writer, from Dublin, and chairs the advocacy group Atheist Ireland, which seeks to promote atheism, reason and ethical secularism in Ireland and around the world.

Answering NO will be David Roberston.¬†David is the minister of St Peter’s Free Church in Dundee, Scotland. He is also the Director of SOLAS Centre for Public Christianity.

There will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions during the evening.
